I can't quote any statistics, but I'd disagree, at least as far as physical

face to face sort of bullying goes. Social Media bullying is worse simply because of the anonymity and the fact that that platform didn't exist before.

But as for kid on kid, face to face, I know of one kid being suspended in our school (5th grade) for what in my youth would NEVER have been reported or truly taken seriously, and my kids told me a story a while back about someone being a bully on the bus, and something like 5 kids called him out and made him stop.

I think the emphasis on it almost has to be helping as people are more aware of it being a big issue with the potential for explosive violence.
